"Crash"

"Crash" is a great movie. I'm not talking about the one from 1996; I'm talking about the one from 2004. How funny is 1996's premise? This movie is a must-see for anyone who has ever even thought about racism, and what it means.

"Crash" follows several interwoven storylines where characters' interactions with one another are affected by society's imposed stereotypes on their judgment. This movie explores just what sort of affect that can have. It asks the question, "What makes a racist different from those who simply hold people up to stereotypes?" Is everyone in this movie a racist? You decide.

There are way too many good scenes in this movie to comment on, so I'll simply urge you to rent this one yourself. Better yet, buy it. I plan to some day. The scenes revolving around the invisible, bullet-proof cloak are nothing short of phenomenal. And the all-star cast does a wonderful job fleshing out these "stereotypes." Even Tony Danza did a good job. Yes, I said Tony Danza. Who's the boss now?
