"Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith"

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, starring Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Natalie Portman as Padmé, and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, was alright. At least it was when you compared it to the first two. In my opinion, however, the first three will never compare to the last three. Maybe that's just me. But I doubt it.

So the clone wars are still going on, and now Palpatine is kidnapped by General Grievous (a bad-ass droid). It is up to Anakin and Obi-Wan to save him. Of course, we the audience know that nothing good can come of this, but we watch anyway. Anakin is starting to get pissed at the Jedi Council for not believing in him, AND he's having nightmares about Padme (his secret wife) dying in childbirth, AND his childhood acne is resurfacing. It's true. Well, all except for the last part. So he's cranky, and off-balanced as he learns that the Chancellor can save his wife, IF he turns to the dark side. Where do you think this is going? Obi-Wan is sent away on a mission and Palpatine uses this time to solidify his influence over Anakin. We see the Emperor emerge, and eventually the birth of Darth Vader. The Jedi Order has been betrayed and everything they fought for has now been turned upside-down. Who's the rebel now, huh?

Okay. The movie was just that: okay. You all know you watched it (or will watch it) just to catch that fleeting glimpse of Darth Vader, and maybe find out how old chrome dome became a walking, talking, cyborg. That's why I watched it. But a movie that is watched through JUST to get to the last 15 minutes isn't really a movie at all. So, borrow your geek friend's copy (you know who they are), fast forward to the last few scenes, watch those, and then watch Episode IV with all that time you've saved. You'll thank me for it later.
