It's my birthday tomorrow, and I've nearly overlooked it, what with working on the house and all. But I have good news: the house is almost done and life should be returning to normal then. Maybe I'll even get to have a housewarming party.
You see, the problem with remodeling a basement is this: you always end up fixing some other guy's problems. For instance, when you do the electrical, you end up rewiring half of the upstairs outlets too. Like where the previous guy was adding an outlet so, when he ran the wire, he accidentally drilled up through the hardwood floors, instead of in between the wall. Then, rather than try again, he just drills a hole into the baseboard and up to the outlet. Things like this, and so many more.
Not to mention, getting rid of all the demolished stuff is a pain in the @ss as well. You need to bin it, bag it, or bundle it, and when you're talking drywall, wood, and metal studs, it gets to be a chore.
And my dog keeps giving my roommate poison ivy. We've got to fix that b/c she jumped down my throat last night when I got home. So not in the mood. Plus he just LOVES to lay under the pine trees. Read: sap-covered dog. Those things are SO gone.
Anyway, not an excuse, just an explanation. Talk to you all soon.
