Hot Showers

Hot showers feel SO good. Especially after a long day at work, where everything seems to go silly on you, and even more so after a long run, where much of the same happens. You know those days: ones where you're not sure you like your job, and you're not sure you were happy with your run. In the end, though, I think I'm very happy with tonight's run, especially compared to last night's run anyway. I'll have to get back to you on the job part.

You turn on the water, let it run to get hot, and then test it. Finally you climb in and...man! That feels great on your aching muscles. Hot, almost to the point of discomfort. You lather up, including your naughty bits, then rinse off, all the while thinking about your day, or maybe a girl, or anything else that comes to mind. Maybe you thought about the things I wrote today. I did.

Then when you're done rinsing, you just stand there, under the water...relaxing. Feeling each water droplet hit, and heat, your skin. Feeling it travel from your head, down your neck and between the shoulder blades. It then makes its way across the small of your back, past your -ahem- nether region, and down your leg. Finally, it slides down your foot, between your toes, and reaches the drain, disappearing. After a few minutes of this, you reach for the handles and slowly shut the water off.

You're standing there in the shower, reaching for the towel, when you have that thought: I wonder if anyone would notice if I just stayed in here for a few more hours. Though usually you have that thought during your morning shower. Finally, you dry yourself off and get into your PJs. Man, what a good feeling.
