Well, after working my ass off this past week (48 hours at COB today) I'm greatly looking forward to my Holiday in Prague. We just delivered a fairly major piece of functionality to the client and I have to tell you: it feels good. What a relief to finally have something to show for all my time over here.
Since I've last written I've watched a few movies, worked my fingers to the bone, and eaten my fair share of sushi. Oh, and I almost swapped Prague for Vilnius (the capitol of Lithuania). My buddy, Turtle, is currently playing (serving the Army) in the sandbox (Afghanistan) and they are sending him to Vilnius this weekend for some work-slash-trouble. Unfortunately I found out after I booked all of Prague and it would have cost me several hundred dollars to switch. Sorry, Turtle. I'll see you when you get back to the States around the same time I do.
Sunday was, again, movie day. I watched "March of the Penguins" and "The Nutty Professor," the original version with Jerry Lewis, before actually hitting a real theater and taking in "Underworld: Evolution."
"March of the Penguins" was pretty good, but I have to say that penguins aren't as noble as the movie cracks them up to be. The movie makes them out to be these monogomous creatures, but they're not. Sure, each season they take on a mate and stay faithful. Faithful for about the time it takes them to make, grow, and have the baby. After that, they're gone, leaving each other, AND the baby to fend for itself. Now if I were to have sex once a year, each time with a different woman, knock her up, and stick around until the baby was born, would that make me noble and altruistic? No, it would make me a whore. A whore who owes alot of child support. And if that child were to die because I was too young and impetuous to properly shift the egg from mother to father and it froze, or I lost it and it froze, or I let it starve to death, would that make me responsible. No, it would make me jailbate for some guy named Bubba. So, penguins, I have one little bit of advice: use a condom.
"The Nutty Professor" was surprisingly good. I normally shy away from Jerry Lewis because he's always seemed so annoying. But this movie was as good, if not better than, the remake. Not that that's saying alot. But still, it was fun to watch on a lonely Sunday afternoon. I will say this, those that made the remake wisely chose to have the professor get together with a coworker rather than a student. Smart move.
Finally, "Underworld: Evolution" was the sequel to the original "Underworld," a tale about the war between the vampires and their slaves, the werewolves. The first movie was good, if only to see Kate Beckinsale in leather. The second movie was good ONLY to see Kate Beckinsale in leather, and out of it, too. It was a forced tale attempting to delve into the history of the war between the races, and bring that feud to a stunning conclusion. Unfortunately that stunning conclusion was, well, stunning only in that it was so anticlimactic. So, bottom line is: if you want to see pieces parts of Kate's booby, go see this movie. Or, for the ladies out there (and some of the boys, too), if you want to see Scott Speedman's tushy, join the fellas already in line.
Other than that I've been struggling daily with trying to remotely control my life back in the States from over here, dealing with things like filing for an IRS extension on my taxes and shopping for a new home, but I'm getting the hang of it. It's also fun adding to my photography collection which Kristen has been pimping, quite promisingly I might add, to some vendors. I've got a few silly posts following this one so I'll sign off now. Wish me luck in Prague. Though I hear they're having their worst cold snap in 25 years. Better bring my long johns...

When are you coming back to the States? Going to make Betty Ford this year?
I'm hoping to be back mid-April. When is Betty Ford this year? Though I doubt I'll make it. Took me a minute to realize who you were, girl. But I got it now.
