Every comic can have moments of comic genius, even when they're not so good. I know, because every now and then I'm funny. But I'm not a comedian. I shouldn't have to go to a comedy club and be forced to sift thorough sheit for a diamond in the rough. This guy was so bad that he ruined my taste for comedy last night and forced me to walk out after his act BEFORE the headliner even came on. Now I know what Jerry Seinfeld was talking about all those years before. Word to the wise, when you're forced into acting like a medium who talks to dead dogs, leave the stage. Step away from the joke, and back away slowly with your hands above your head. The comedy police will be by shortly with their squirting flowers.
I will say that he did have one funny thought. It went something like this, at the end of his act:
I'll leave you with a thought. Just once I'd like to be sitting watching the credits roll by for a move and see: Loads of animals were killed in the filming of this movie. That would be great. What would be better would be if it came after a movie in which no animals whatsoever appeared.Other than that life is going well. Struggling through work while trying to plan my vacations and sell my house. That's going to be a bear, trying to figure out what to do with the money from that prior to buying another. Hell, just getting to the point where someone is ready to hand me a check could be a pain in the ass. Luckily being here I have an excuse that allows me to have Vince do most of the work.
I'm going to try and give you a daily taste of British colloquialisms from now on, and maybe even a photograph, if I have one.
Today's taste of Britain:
The British say "ta" instead of saying "thanks a lot." So, for example, you perform some task for them, and they'll say, "ta for that, J" instead of saying, "thanks a lot for that, J." It takes some getting used to. Plus they love to call me Jas which, many of you know, I dislike quite a bit. Oh well.
Today's photograph:
Stone Henge, ladies and gentleman, with some fancy photochop work as well. I kept the foreground a sepia-like color while inserting a color background. I think it works nicely. What do you think?
