Spaced Out

I'm loving Channel 4's Space Cadets. Here's the deal on this British reality show: 4 individuals have been picked to be the first civilian astronauts abord a space shuttle. Follow them through the selection process, the training, and finally through their wonderful journey through space. Here's the catch: they never leave the ground. They're all (well, 3 of them - one's an actor) victims of an elaborate ruse, and the first to cry foul wins.

This show is funny, from watching them rewrite science and explain away gravity, to watching them film commercials for russian products, this crap is delicious. Or watching the one space cadet conduct his own experiments and come to the conclusions that he is less fit in space and his apple doesn't rot as fast.

Tomorrow night the cadets who failed to be selected for the program are let in on the secret and then, on Friday, the cadets themselves have the curtain pulled away to reveal that they are in a simulator. Can't wait.
