Damn Alarm

Missed my run this morning b/c my damn alarm didn't go off. Apparently the "On" switch got stuck b/w "On" and "Snooze" confusing it. So I guess it just gave up. Sucks b/c tonight I don't know that I'll have time after work. For one thing I have a phone "interview" with another company tonight. I say "interview" b/c it's not like I can really leave what I'm doing right now, not until this phase is over at least. But we'll see what she has to say and how it goes before we travel any further down that road. I suppose I could always work out around the flat. Word of caution however: when you work out indoors you risk injuring your fish.

Selling the house is turning into a bit more of a pain in the @ss than I had hoped, but I'm sure we'll get through it. It's just tough b/c mixing friends and money is ALWAYS delicate, and mixing friends and LOTS OF money is even harder. Neither of us want to nickel and dime the other so I'm hoping it all comes out in the wash. But, now that it's started, I just want it to be over with. It will be difficult selling the house while I'm over here but I think I have all that squared away.

What would be even harder would be buying a house while I'm over here. Luckily I don't really see that happening. That's either fortunate, or unfortunate, depending on the real estate market lately. Well, we'll just roll the dice and see how they land. For those of you that think land is expensive in the D.C. area, check out this parcel of land that went for the equivalent of 10Billion+ per acre. Wow! Fortunately, taxes on it are only around $5 per year: it's only one square inch.

Okay, so the holidays are upon us, which leads me to my lesson of the day on British colloquialism: When in England, if you truly want to fit in, wish people a "Happy Christmas," and not a "Merry Christmas." While the latter will be understood, the former will make you sound like a local. Sort of like saying "Cheers" instead of "Thanks."

Now, before I post a photo of my own, check out this one-pixel "camera." Be sure to watch the video, too. It's pretty cool.

And now, here's a photo for you:
Here's a shot looking down from the London Eye (or the British Airways London Eye - gotta get those advertising dollars) on the Dali Museum, which is located in the old County Hall. I don't think I've posted this one before, but this is a good time to note that I may do that occassionally, so I apologize in advance. There were a few small modifications to this photo, namely taking out a crane in the background and removing a "spot" from the window of the Eye. Enjoy!
