Selling the house is turning into a bit more of a pain in the @ss than I had hoped, but I'm sure we'll get through it. It's just tough b/c mixing friends and money is ALWAYS delicate, and mixing friends and LOTS OF money is even harder. Neither of us want to nickel and dime the other so I'm hoping it all comes out in the wash. But, now that it's started, I just want it to be over with. It will be difficult selling the house while I'm over here but I think I have all that squared away.
What would be even harder would be buying a house while I'm over here. Luckily I don't really see that happening. That's either fortunate, or unfortunate, depending on the real estate market lately. Well, we'll just roll the dice and see how they land. For those of you that think land is expensive in the D.C. area, check out this parcel of land that went for the equivalent of 10Billion+ per acre. Wow! Fortunately, taxes on it are only around $5 per year: it's only one square inch.
Okay, so the holidays are upon us, which leads me to my lesson of the day on British colloquialism: When in England, if you truly want to fit in, wish people a "Happy Christmas," and not a "Merry Christmas." While the latter will be understood, the former will make you sound like a local. Sort of like saying "Cheers" instead of "Thanks."
Now, before I post a photo of my own, check out this one-pixel "camera." Be sure to watch the video, too. It's pretty cool.
And now, here's a photo for you:
