Question of the Day

Okay, this is almost the same as the Thought of the Day, but different b/c I couldn't find an answer to it. So if you find the answer, let me know, and I'll reward you. And not with pee, either.

Anyway, here goes: Why does warm water make you pee? Or want to pee?

Discuss.

so...this is the skinny on warm water and pee.
The Veterinary community has used warm water to promote urinary activity but as sort of a home remedy. Not a scientific certainty. I have been a first hand witness to this as my vet tried it on my kitty but to no avail. Hence the plastic wee wee.
A story for a dufferent time.
The New England Journal of Medicine has a bit more info for us humans and it is simply this:
Any body part exposed to warm water may cause a reflex in the parasympathetic nervous system. This could be a trigger- creating spasms in the bladder which in turn results in.....Can you guess? Loss of bladder control.
My take on all this? I have way too much time on my hands and...is this some sort of a golden showeres thing? Discuss..
