Busy Day, Wet Shoes

Well, yesterday was a busy day, but in a good way. And it snowed! Quite a bit, actually. Something like 5 inches in 3 hours I'm told. Even forced me to buy de-icer this morning, which I love! I don't know why I ever used a scraper before. This stuff you just spray it on and wait, then turn on your wipers. Whoosh, the ice is gone. Lovely.

So, yesterday I woke up and, knowing it was my mother's birthday, immediately ordered her flowers from FTD.com. This did take a bit of research, however, as I didn't know her work address. And then it took some hoping that she went to work on her birthday. But she did, and she got the flower basket just fine. Happy Birthday, Mom.

At work I sent some emails to get some more information on my holiday to Glasgow. I found out more information on taking a whisky tour, which should rock. I also got more info on, get this, Falconing! Yep, I'm going out hunting with birds of prey. How cool is that? Finally, and somewhat unfortunately, I discovered that my skill (or lack thereof) will not be enough to be allowed to go horseback riding while I'm there. Of course it could end up being that the girls go riding and the boys go drinking (whisky). We shall see.

Aside from some emails I even managed to get quite a bit of real work done. And that's always a good thing. I finally got my web applications up and running and am able to start in on a new task.

I also updated and submitted my resume to Jared, as well as answered some of his questions that recruiters often ask. You see, I figure that I have my clearances so I should use them, at least for a bit. You know, make some money before becoming a teacher. See how I like a change of companies, and I've been impressed with how long Jared has remained with Booz Allen. On the teaching front, though, Jared's wife, Meggie, sent me some information on teaching that I'll have to look over this weekend. Should be some good stuff. Hell, I even caught up on the movie reviews I've been promising, though I tried to keep them short.

Finally, I scheduled an appointment to fix the chip I got in my windscreen coming back from London last week. While the insurance on the rental won't cover it at least my company will. Now I just have to find the place to get it done. They were going to come out to do it while I'm at work but the weather just won't allow it. Bastards.

Well, I'll leave you with some shocking news:

Seems this girl got the kiss of death from her boyfriend. Amazing. Never knew such a small amount of nuts could kill a girl.

Live lingerie models are stirring up this small town. Personally I think this rocks. While I may not buy much more lingerie I'd at least, um, stand up and give my support for the models.

Next up, Ozzy makes the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with his pals from Black Sabbath and some others, like the Sex Pistols. Way to go, Ozzy. I just wonder if the old bloke is sane enough to realize what he's getting.

Finally, my random thought of this morning: How is it that your dreams can not only include people and events that exist in your life, but they can make up people, events, and (this is what wierds me out) phrases and words, too? Like last night I was in the back seat as Susan Orth (real, though I haven't seen her in 5+ years) drove my rental (also real) down a road by work (still real) explaining to the drving instructor (not real!) that she loved this area because she could, and I quote, "...pillow stud people while driving." What does that mean? And why was she crying when she said it?

Oh, here's a photo for you, too. Enjoy!
